How to prepare for low voltage landscape lighting prior to a driveway being poured?
I have a new concrete driveway being poured in 2 days. How could I prepare for low voltage lighting that must run under the driveway? There is no time for entire system to be installed so should I simply run some 10 gauge wire under driveway before it is poured so we can use it later?
Alternatively would it be a good idea to install a 2" diameter PVC pipe under driveway prior to pouring to use later to run conduit through?

Put in conduit; 1" diameter will probably be enough. Use rated conduit, not random PVC. Pre-install a pull string in the conduit.

Joe gave the best answer so far. You just need something to run the wire through later. For low voltage, anything that won't break down when buried should be adequate. The wiring for the landscape lighting should be rated for direct burial without conduit. The only real purpose of the conduit is to hold open the space.

use 14ga. THHN in a 1/2inch pvc in a couple of strategic spaces under the drive ... we are talking low voltage with a transformer that is emitting 12volts of power like ""Malibu lighting"" == that stuff is good and it does require little maintenance == you can buy 10 or 12 bulbs in a carton at the auto supply store [[much cheaper than what is on a card at the hardware biggies --- for more about garden lighting e/m ... XTX lots of experience with Malibu Lites .....=== put a cap on the PVC so it does not get filled with concrete ===AND === 10 gauge is not what you use and 2inch is too big == the smaller thhn will carry the 12volts just fine .... the number of watts, lumens, candle power, and bulb brands all help you add an extra light or two to the path/garden lighting ...
