Dhoni has resigned as captain and is retiring as of now. Who will his replacement be? Kholi seems a little to immature yet as a captain.?

Update:

Kholiis still too much of a hot head for the role as captain.

He finally realized that he is neither a good batsman nor a captain when it comes to Test cricket. In fact he doesn't know ABC of Test cricket.

As a batsman he could never score a single 100 outside the flat pitches of sub-continent.

And as a captain, his records were even more terrible. Whitewash in Eng, then in Aus, then series lost in SA, NZ, and again in Eng & Aus. Forget about winning a Test series overseas, saving a match seemed hard for Dhoni.

Ganguly made India no.1 in Tests & Dhoni ended with India as no.6.

Truth is always bitter, but it's truth.

    Hasta la Vista Dhoni

    Regards

Kohli may be little immature as a captain, but still far better than one who never deserved a place in Test team.

India has often went about putting in poor captains. I think they will put Kohli as captain despite him being incapable of setting a good example other than his batting. Dhoni was the best choice despite him not being ideal. I think the only more suitable than Kohli in the current lot is Rohit Sharma, but he is not in the test side consistently which makes it difficult to have him as captain seeing he is not a wicket keeper so can't fill that void in the side.

Immature Kohli may be but he was a better captain than Dhoni for the first test, but I would prefer to see an older, more in control persn take on the role.

I was utterly appalled with the quality of Dhoni's wicketkeeping this series. Absolutely dreadful - he dared call himself a world-class keeper?

Kohli is very hot-headed and quite a spoiled brat - I think too much of one to be an effective captain. But that's India's choice, I guess.

Who will keep wicket for India now?

Its a big surprise that he has decided to retire altogether, instead of giving up Test captaincy.

India has no better w/k to replace Dhoni & team will struggle to find a suitable replacement soon enough. Saha is good keeper but he is no good with the bat, he will only lengthen the ragged tail. Robin Uthapa could be entrusted, as he is an attacking batsman but not such a great keeper but he will flourish, as Dhoni was blocking him totally. Naman Ojha is another option but he is also IPL bred & did well in A-Tour of Australia recently.

Kohli will captain the team but he is really immature & embroiled in on-field run-ins without a break. Everyone is questioning his ability to handle pressure & to keep his young team-mates from running ragged on the field.

It would have been much better to keep Dhoni behind the wickets & hand reigns to Kohli, as rest of the team comprises of youngsters & no one will dare to stop the star batsman, instead they might bring down the house with new leader, who is already the king of brats. Let's hope the 4th Test ends in peace & nothing like Monkey-gate ever happens on the field, it was way too offensive for both the teams.

He is just much more better at ODIs and T20s as a captain and Kolhi seemed ok as a Test captain first time round much more aggressive maybe this will help India in the slower formats

Kohli will take over. It's a shame that Dhoni didn't get to announce his last Test and have a good send off, that has happened to a few cricketers while playing in Australia though.

I reckon Kohli can grow into being a good captain

Our own captain Clarke is known to be a tad hot-headed himself

I think Raina should become the captain as Kohli is a very hot tempered guy and gets angry soon and 2 b a captain you have 2 b cool n not hot tempered.
