Species/Kind?

If there are 10,000 species of birds, how many "kinds" would that be?

Just to join in the chorus, "kind" is not a scientific word. It is a word used solely by creationists, and they're very careful to keep the definition vague. If you can manage to pin one down, they will claim that "kind" means "a group that is just barely larger than the largest evolutionary change so far directly observed". They need to keep the definition flexible so that they can keep changing it, constantly redrawing the line as new evidence emerges.

"Kind" is not a scientific term. You can define "kind" in any way you choose - brown birds, white birds and birds with a splash of red could all be considered "kinds".
