Did Fulton Sheen actually say this?

Does anyone know what the source of this quote is (if any)?

"If you want your kids to defend their Faith send them to a public school, if you want them to lose their Faith send them to a Catholic School."

I don't think he said it -- but I agree with whoever said it.

So many 'supposedly' Catholic schools are really secular institutions. So much so that some have been stripped of their Catholic affiliation.

The Cardinal Newman Society is a conservative group that really tracks this issue.

I don't know. Probably not. I don't really agree with it though. Just like public schools, there are good Catholic schools and bad ones. And just because you go to a bad school does not mean you will lose your faith and vice versa.

No, this is a link to an explanation. Putting the statement in context, I believe it is a criticism of how liberal some Catholic schools are today. In any case it was not Bishop Fulton Sheen.
