What is you opinion on Myler bits?

Not saying I use one or even thinking I will. I recently saw a heated argument on Myler bits, particulary the combo bits. What are your thoughts ?

Update:

I am not suggesting that I am either for or against them. I want to hear from both sides of the fence. I remain neutral on this.

The other year I was looking into them because one of my horses was tossing her head a lot (teeth had checked out). I was riding her in a D ring snaffle. The Myler people recommended the combo bit to me, but I decided to go with the same mouth piece (a #36), but with a D ring instead. My horse HATED it!! I highly doubt she would have liked it as a combo bit instead. I got her a french link snaffle and she goes really well now, no head tossing, no rooting. She's a dream to ride now.

So they might work for some horses, but I'm not going to spend that much money on a bit again.

Myler bits are incredible! I'd like to know what was said bad about them...it would be interesting.

All my horses use Mylers and I feel like I can connect to their mouths better.

Combo bits are basically for your beginning horse In my opinion. It allows up you to start making them notice the bit and learn directions when you pull the reins.

I like the level one Mylers without the hooks. The joint in the middle is nice. I'm not a fan of any sort of leverage without a curb chain to limit the curb action though so I stay away from the ones with hooks and the combos look a lot like torture devices to me.

Don't get me started on all these crazy bits these bit makers keep coming out with. It's like they're trying to reinvent the wheel.

If I can't get what I need done with a plain snaffle, my brain, my hands and legs, then there's something wrong with what I'm doing that needs to be fixed. It has nothing at all to do with the bit.
