The fleas are terrible this year where I live and I'd like to know if there are any inexpensive flea drops?

that will actually keep the fleas off my two little (less than 5 pounds) chihuahuas. Frontline is so expensive and at the moment I am strapped for cash. If you know of any other ways to get rid of the fleas I would love to hear them. Also, does anyone know of any more natural remedies where you don't have to put poison on your babies but can still keep fleas at bay. Much thanks.

Inexpensive and natural you say? I have the perfect flea remedy! I use it all the time & though it sounds odd, trust me, it works. All you need is pure 100% natural lemon juice, a spray bottle, and water. Put 2/3 lemon juice to 1/3 water in the spray bottle & spray all your fabric surfaces: furniture, carpet, curtains, it's even safe for your clothes and bedding. It is not sticky (which is the first thought I had when I heard of this remedy), so surprisingly it doesn't leave anything feeling sticky & even has a nice scent! You can spray, or if your poochies objects to being sprayed (mine hates it) you can wet a cloth in the solution and wipe them down.

I'm not so sure this kills fleas, I think they just don't like it and go away, but it does work. If, in a few weeks or a month, you start to see fleas again, just repeat.

Donna I will help you but please do as I advise. You are only killing the fleas on your lovely dogs and not taking care of the source so here's what you do first of all bath your dogs you will see the fleas run to the head pick them off and drown them. Then keep the dogs out of each room they go into and blitz the rooms with fly killer sprays, do all over the carpets backs of furniture along the skirting and close all doors, even cracks in floor boards then vacuum place out. Also keep the dogs confined to one room as then you won't have the problem of fleas in bedrooms, I've just combed my 3 cats and not one flea likewise my GSD and this is because I keep on top of them pesky creatures. Ensure you do this now and again because fleas also lurk outside and in thw Winter still act because they thrive on warmth from radiators.

I also have my fly spray handy and if I so much as see one flea around I spray it. keep well away from the tiny dogs.

Diatomaceous earth is a natural way to kill fleas (and other insects). A bit difficult to find, but an internet search will give you results. Just be sure it's "food grade". You can rub it into their coats, and sprinkle it around the perimeter of the house.
