Tough choice but I would vote for Granada as I love La Alhambra and sampling tapas with my cañas!

Sevilla is very nice also but I tip in favor of Granada.

With only a week or less in Spain, I would consider spending the entire time in Madrid. There is so much to see and do and you've planned two terrific day trips. You said that you wanted a relaxing time. You could add Avila as another day trip.

Granada and Seville are wonderful cities, but with only a week there, you have to consider travel time. There is a high speed train to Seville that takes 2.5 hours. Granada is less direct. You can fly there in less than an hour. Driving or taking the bus is more like 6 hours. If you enjoy seeing the countryside, then perhaps that is a good option for you, but otherwise you will spend a lot of time in transit.

As far as non-touristy things in Madrid...do you speak Spanish? For me, just wandering around the city and stopping in bars and cafes is so much fun. The touristy things like the Royal Palace, Retiro Park, touring the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium and going to a bullfight are also enjoyable. Despite being a large city, Madrid has a small town feel and the center is easy to navigate on foot or by metro. Have fun!

Oh boy. i've got been to all 4 cities. i like all of them. If that's quite the Moorish factors you like, Sevilla often is the placement - the Alcazar is a "could see". it is likewise the main relaxing of the three, in my opinion, for tapas (seek for a great place alongside the river close to the Torre del Oro). Granada is stable up there as properly - the Alhambra is astounding. Madrid is of course busy, and many times madly busy at night. Barcelona is lots extra laid back, with some wonderful parks as properly. If I have been you, i'd attempt to put in a sprint extra time in Seville and Granada, then Barcelona, and extremely much less in Madrid.

I have to admit I love Barcelona the most, so I'm inclined to suggest it. I believe you can do a lot in 3 days - see many of the main sights, have a taste of some different areas, have a general feel of the city.

On my last trip I stayed at Hostal Barcelona, a cheap hotel conveniently located to explore the Paral-lel area, the Old City, Las Ramblas and Montjuic. This already gives a glimpse, and a view, of Barcelona.
