How to add a static page in Wordpress site as home page?
By default, in my wordpress site, the home page consists of all recent posts. It's the normal scenario. But I want to make my home page static page containing some specific information and name another page as 'post' to show the recent posts there. How can I do that? Do I need specific theme for that?
Please help.

Click settings, Reading and there you can choose the static page to serve as your home page. Be sure to create that page first under pages (not posts)

1. Copy your front page code into Text Editor name that file "newhomepage"( Add the appropriate -Template PHP )
2. Upload to your server
3. Go to Dashboard and Create a New Page ( Name the Page whatever you want )
4. Scroll down until you see "Page Template"
5. Switch to your "newhomepage" Template
6. Go to Dashboard -> Settings -> Reading -> Set new page as front page
7. Done!

To display the blog posts, you have to use shortcodes if the theme does support such one.
