excel formula between worksheets?

I need to show overall totals for each quarter by entering formulas that create links between the quarterly worksheets and the summary sheet.

The quarterly worksheets have been named as 1st Qtr, 2nd Qtr, 3rd Qtr, 4th Qtr & I can't change their names .

The cells on each Quarter page I need to use are F17 to go on the Summary page in column B.

Any help/advice would be great, thanks.

These are all Worksheets contained within the same Workbook? In your Summary page (sheet) where you want the totals to appear, start the formula, click on the 1st Qtr sheet tab then the cell F17 follow with a + sign from the keyboard and repeat for the remaining sheets. After the inclusion of 4th Qtr F17, press the enter key.

I think your formula should look like this:

=1st Qtr:F17+2nd Qtr:F17, etc. If this does not work, then perhaps it doesn't like the space you have in the sheet names. Change, yes you must, to something like 1st_Qtr

On Edit: Sorry, I told you wrong. It should be ='1st Qtr'!F17+'2nd Qtr'!F17+'3rd Qtr'!F17+'4th Qtr

    !F17

i am going to attempt to rephrase what craazyladi reported: enable's say you've 2 sheets: "sheet a million" and "sheet 2", and the totals are in cellular D10 in both sheets. Then on your very last sheet, the position you want the grand entire, you would have the formula: ='Sheet a million'!D10 + 'Sheet 2'!D10
