How do you solve x(x+1)=12

Simplify completely: (3x-9x^2) / (9x^2)

Any help is appreciated. Thanks! :)

    Lets just say that the area= 30ft squared and the height=5 A=1/2bh (30)=1/2b(5) first u can divide both sides by 1/2 or 5 it doesn't matter but i must add that when solving for "x" you start with the bottom of P.E.M.D.A.S (im sure you know what it stands for) so what ever is subtracting (you would add to the other side) or adding (you would subtract from the other-side) it doesn't matter then so on but make sure that you simplify on the side that has the "x" first or you will make it difficult for yourself lol!! i think im giving too much detail ......... (30)/(1/2)=b(5) (15)=b(5) (15)/(5)=b B=3

    x(x+1)=12 Just looking at this equation it is a quadratic equation. So we will put it in form of Ax^2 + Bx +C = 0

    x^2 + x - 12=0

    Factoring this equation we get

    (X-3)(x+4)=0

    x=3 and x =-4

    This one here (3x-9x^2) / (9x^2)

    We have a common factor of 3x so will pull that out

    3x (1-3x) / (9x^2)

    which now becomes (1-3x)/3x

    x(x+1) =12

    x^2+x-12 = 0

    A quadratic equation in x

    let factorize,

    (x+4)(x-3) = 0

    x+4=0 or x-3=0

    x=(-4) , x=3

    (3x-9x^2) / 9x^2

    3x(1-3x) / 9x^2

    (1-3x) /3x

    1/3x - 1

    x(x + 1) = 12 => x^2 + x - 12 = 0

    (x + 4)(x - 3) = 0 => x = 3, -4

    Dear Salem Rox My Sox!,

    x(x+1)=12

    Multiply x by each term inside the parentheses.

    x^(2)+x=12

    To set the left-hand side of the equation equal to 0, move all the expressions to the left-hand side.

    x^(2)+x-12=0

    Factor the trinomial x^(2)+x-12.

    (x+4)(x-3)=0

    Set each of the factors of the left-hand side of the equation equal to 0.

    x+4=0_x-3=0

    Since 4 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by subtracting 4 from both sides.

    x=-4_x-3=0

    Set each of the factors of the left-hand side of the equation equal to 0.

    x=-4_x-3=0

    Since -3 does not contain the variable to solve for, move it to the right-hand side of the equation by adding 3 to both sides.

    x=-4_x=3

    The complete solution is the set of the individual solutions.

    x=-4,3

    ===============

    (3x-9x^(2))/(9x^(2))

    Factor out the GCF of -3x from -9x^(2)+3x.

    (-3x(3x-1))/(9x^(2))

    Reduce the expression -(3x(3x-1))/(9x^(2)) by removing a factor of 3x from the numerator and denominator.

    -(3x-1)/(3x)

    x(x+1)=12 <--looks like you need to distribute the x(x+1)

    x^2+x = 12 <---now bring the 12 to the other side

    x^2+x-12 = 0 <----looks like you can now factor it

    (x+4)(x-3)=0 <---make sure you get factorization and how i got that. Now just solve for x

    x+4 = 0 AND x-3 =0

    x = -4, 3

    (3x-9x^2) / (9x^2) <---for this looks like you can factor out 3x out of both of them

    3x(x-3x)/3x(3x) <---cancel out the 3x's

    x-3x / 3x <---there's your simplified answer

    Distributive property!

    x * x= 1x

    x * 1= 1x

    1x +1x=1x^2 (1x squared)

    1x squared=12

    1x squared / 1x squared=x (cancels out)

    12/ 1x squared=x squared

    In other words, the answer is x squared
