Diference between fast balls?
I know a fast ball is a fast ball - however what is the difference between a 2 seam, 4 seam and splitter fastball ??

Two seam is gripped along the seams closest together on a baseball, it sinks down and away.
Four seam is a pure pitch for speed, it is held on the seams on top of the baseball. It has little to no movement. Splitter is a pitch gripped with your fingers held far apart on the horseshoe part of a baseball. When you throw a spitter it sinks at the last second.

The actual name for them have meaning in the sense that, a 4 seam fastball spins in such a direction that you can see 4 seams spin and as you might have guessed the 2 seam fastball is thrown so that only two seams are seen while it spins (also the road).
This is achieved with different grips.
The 2 seam fastball has a slight curve depending on which hand you throw it with, it is also slightly inaccurate (its not as straight as a 4 seam fastball).

4 seams are the hardest throw fastballs. 2 seamers move to the right as a righty and left as a lefty. Splitters sink.

2seam slips toleft or rite depending on pitcher. 4 seam is ur power pitch. Splitter is similar to sinker, but faster. It tends to drop at the end
