Question about Oktoberfest Tour?

Hi, I might be going to Oktoberfest this year with Contiki tours. I was just wondering if anyone has done this before either with Contiki or with another agency or even by themselves? If so, how was it, were people fairly social and did you encounter any problems?

    I have been to Oktoberfest once, but did not go through a tour group. I was studying abroad and went with two friends. I used the http://www.oktoberfest.de/en/ site to get all of the information I needed. Once there we were able to figure most things out on our own, but people were amazingly nice and would always help when we needed it. Finding room at a table in one of the tents can be challenging without a reservation and especially on peak evenings. If you plan to stay in a hotel, book now as many will already be sold out.

    Any tour group will certainly have more structure, but I think half the fun of international travel is discovering new things and figuring it out on your own.
