At the age of 15 years, 316 days... Joe Nuxhall is the youngest player to play in an MLB game.

These days, you have to be 16 to signed to an MLB team.

Pablo Sandoval signed with the Giants at age 16. I know of some other Venezuelan/South/Central American players that signed at 16. I can't think of any that signed younger than that. There might be a different rule for American-born players because of laws about school and stuff. I'm pretty sure Yogi Berra signed at 16, but that was a long time ago and laws have changed since then.

Major League Baseball requires a player to be at least 16 years of age to be able to be signed by a MLB team or to try out for a farm team.

In order to sign a contract, you must be 18 years of age. So you can be drafted, even signed to a minor league deal, but then you would need your parent or guardian to sign for you.
