what really is autsim?
I have ADHD and mild autism but really whats that? the doc says its just some "disorder" where you have trouble interacting with people, which i guess for my case is true but what is it really? Im the sort who likes to be alone dislike loud places like malls, dislike theme parks, and all the things teens (im 14) are suppose to like. :( being autistic does that mean i can't work with people cos i really want to be a paramedic!

Having autism means you might struggle to interact with people normally. Perhaps you don't understand body language very well and find it hard to know what people are feeling, maybe you sometimes say things that offend people without meaning to. Other traits are being sensitive to bright lights and loud noises, getting obsessions with things, and needing to spend a lot of time alone. However this doesn't mean you can't work with people! You can still do anything a "normal" person can do, you might just have to work a little harder at the socialising side of things.

Autism is basically a different brain configuration. The average person's brain works one way, the autistic brain works a little differently. (You can see this on brain scans.) This presents itself in a variety of ways, so some autistic people have a lot of problems and some don't have any at all. Everyone's brain is different, but autistic people's brains are a little similar.
There's nothing stopping you from being a a paramedic, I think, as long as you can work under stress.
