Panic Attack quick fixes.?
I've suffered from panic attacks since I was 17 (I'm now 21) and I had to leave school because of it. I'm currently considering going to TAFE to continue my schooling, but the this is, I have to get a bus to the school (which takes any where between 25-40 to get there), and getting on buses is one of my biggest panic inducers, even thinking of it now makes me feel slightly panicky.
So my question is, is there any quick fixes that you know of or that have helped you lower your panic/anxiety levels while travelling?

To treat anxiety you need to expose yourself to what causes your anxiety. So before you start classes you should practice (accompanied by someone) going on the bus repeatedly till you overcome your anxiety (works pretty quick but can be super stressful at first). Try looking up exposure and response prevention therapy. It'll explain this further.

Even I have a lot of anxiety when it comes to boarding buses etc. Listen to music and try to distract yourself. Or try and be busy with your phone. But be careful don't be too distracted on the road and watch where you're going.

get a great pair of headphones: the Pioneer SE MJ 591 headphones. I have them and as an audiophile, I believe they are sonically perfect. Wear them on the bus and you will be relaxed and focused on your music. I have found thes headphones have helped me with stress.

There's an "emergency" CBT technique that used to me a lot when I needed it for panic attacks, it's called "The 20 second countdown" and you can see how you do it here, hope it helps:

I suggest taking an MP3 player along with you. It will help distract you.
