If there are 40 days of Lent why is Easter 46 days after Ash Wednesday?
It ain't got nothing to do with no EQUINOX.

Because the six Sundays during Lent are not considered to be a part of it.
And because Lent doesn't end on Easter Sunday - it ends three days earlier, on Maundy Thursday.
Also, because the "40 days" are only approximate.
This year, the dates for Lent are 2/22 - 4/5. Counting Sundays, that's 6 weeks plus 1 day, or 43 days. Add the remaining weekend, that's 46 days.

Sundays don't count they are not part of Lent nor is the Easter vigil. (Good Friday Holy Saturday)

first off, idk,
eastre is a pagan tradition to which is synonomous with the resurrection of christ. but also has beginnings in a pagan world tradition. most likely there was a pope that made the tradition of ash wednesday according to his individual traditions.
the fact is, Lent is a man-made tradition. there is no commandment of God to keep such a tradition however well intended it is.
there are two commandments that last forever.
the passover sacrifice as commanded to the jews
and the sacrament done in rememberance of jesus life and body which is the sacrificial lamb.
