If a virgin self inseminates, are they still a virgin?

If a virgin is inseminated by a doctor, even THEN she is still a virgin. So yes, of course a virgin birth is possible.

There is no really 100% satisfying definition of the word 'virgin' as far as I know. I certainly would not call a lesbian who has had sex with another woman a virgin, yet when people talk about heterosexual relationships none of the things lesbians may do during sex are considered to 'qualify' as losing your virginity.

To me that only says that the whole concept of virginity is ridiculously narrow and antiquated. It comes from a time when only heterosexual penetrative sex aimed at procreation and only shared with ONE man during your whole life was considered acceptable for women, hence the obsession people used to have with virginity: a guarantee that a man's penis was going where no man had gone before.

I don't see why society still bothers with the whole concept. Sure, somebody's first time is a big deal. The first time kissing, the first time showing yourself naked, the first time having your genitals touched, the first time touching somebody else's genitals, the first time fitting tab A into slot B. ALL first times.

the real answer is clearly having a penis in the vagina, and it is supposed to break the hymen, or cherry. end of story, only penises take th virginity...
