Nicest places in New Zealand?

I am planning on going to New Zealand in about a month and I was wondering where the best spots are to go? What attractions I should see and what ones are over rated. I am interested in some some adventures, culture and shopping, along with the views. But I am on a budget. Thanks!

I went to NZ August 16th 2011 (just after the massive snow dump on 15th) and I loved this awesome country. We caught a plane from Sydney to Rotorua, the plane got delayed by 20 minutes but that was fine.

    We went to..

    Rotorua 10/10

Wellington (had to stop there to fly to Christchurch)

    Christchurch 7/10

    Hanmer Springs 10/10

    Franz Josef 10/10

    Wanaka 9/10

    Queenstown 10/10

    Te Anau 8/10

    Milford Sound 10/10

Highlights for me: The Geothermal at Rotorua, Beautiful Hanmer Springs with snow, Franz Josef Glacier, Gondola and Luge at Queenstown and loved the Ferg Burger bar and the Fish and Chips (Fush and Chups), Beautiful Milford Sound, and my favourite animal are KEA'S AND KIWIS!

The places most people go to would be: Auckland, Cormandel Area, Rotorua, Napier/Hastings, Wellington, Nelson, Hanmer Springs, Glacier Region, Wanaka, Queenstown, Te Anau, Milford Sound, Invercargill, Mt Cook and Dunedin.

To be honest, South island has more things to offer and more beautiful.

I am %100 sure that I will go to NZ again!

The whole country is nice, but the most beatiful are Milford Sound, Routorura geothermal area, and Fox Glacier

The nicest places in NZ are the departure lounges in any of the International airports.
