2008 Nissan Altima only turns on when it wants?

Yesterday, the car was fine. Today, I need to press brake and button atleast 10 times for it to turn on. The only light on is the brake light on the dash. could this be the problem? I was thinking that the car doesnt want you to drive it with crappy brakes?

Update:

na, it was just the brake light switch.

Nissan Altimas have an issues with the brake switch located on the brake pedal. when the switch goes bad the computer does not realize your in park and will not start...

the part is approx. $40.00 for the oem replacement.

You will want to ask the dealer to run your vin on the Nissan Assit and see if the bulletin that has a new harness and newer style switch is required for your car. the harness is approx $200 and the switch approx $50

More likely a sticky brake light switch or the car is not seeing the I key Fob in your pocket
