do broken bones re-attach or not?

broke my foot and have the xray from my first visit to the hospital (small crack.) have now had a cast on for 7 weeks, went in yesterday to get it removed. got a new xray (crack is now huge?) they put on a cast for another 2 weeks.

why does it seem to be getting worse? isnt the bone suppose to re-attach not move farther apart?

Bones heal, but you might be making movements that are cracking the bone. Even if you have a cast on you have to be careful.

A couple of factors affect bone regeneration, including your calcium intake, vitamin D intake, sun exposure, and you parathyroid hormone releasing!

If any of those were disturbed, it might affect (have caused the damage) the regeneration rate!

Other factors that may have impaired the regeneration is that the person who did you cast last time, didn't do it properly!

Check with your doctors, just to be safe!

    Get well soon :)
