Dog "repellent" sprays?

My puppies been eating things up on my deck, so the other day I went out and bought some bitter spray. It worked for a while, with me replenishing it every day or so, but then he started pawing and scratching at things, pulling them down, creating escape routes, etc. I saw this thing next to the bitterspray, it claimed to be a dog "repellent" that held scents and tastes the dog would rather not smell or eat, anyone know if this actually works?

Update:

Cruelty to animals? I don't think you know what you're talking about... It's not like I'm poisoning my dog,

    Hi =D

    My dog did this when she was a puppy. Eating pebbles like if they are treats =(

    Sadly, the repellent sprays don't work at all. You will only create more mess to yourself. I learned from a dog magazine article that a dog will eventually love/no effect on whatever you use. Like that owner tried the bitter spray, but his dog got used to it. Then, mouth wash, but his dog love mint. Finally, chili sauce, but his dog end up loving it. Every thing he tried only worked for a few day or week (his dog chew on furniture).

    The best way is to solve his chewing or eating problem. He can be chewing things for mental issues, like feeling alone and whatnot. Eating things problem is really just a habit. This is why I trained my dog to spit things out, but I can't always have my eyes on her. So the only thing is using a dog muzzle. My dog wear a muzzle when we go for a walk, because she can be eating worse things like poison that someone left there. In the country that I am living, their city council throw poisons on the side walk to kill street animals like dog, cat, rat. Tree branches can also hurt the stomach.

    I don't believe this is animal cruelty, because you are only protecting your dog from getting hurt or sick. The cruelty would be to know this issue, but not doing anything.

    Good luck!

    Works good to prevent that chewed on look in wood furnishings, toys and shoes.

    Pros.. Prevents damage from teething puppies, Does not harm finish on real wood furniture, Smells nice..

    Cons.. Some dogs like the taste, Wears off in a day or two.. Bitter apple spray is Non-toxic and biodegradable..

    I'm not shure what shure what product your talking about.. I know the bitter apple spray.. Not shure what thing your talking about..

    I have never used it but I have heard people use it, and they said it worked well, You also have to discipline him, and teach him that he cannot do that and get away with it. Give him chew toys to divert him from messing with anything else.

    sounds like the puppy is doing what puppies do... you need to puppy proof your house.

    in most countries it is actually banned...cruelty to animals....the reason it is banned is an example of what your dog is doing (trying to escape and ****) from what you gave him
