Should I take SAT Subject Tests?

1. My school has very few AP classes, and I was wondering if these would make up for it.

2. If the colleges I'm applying to don't require, or even recommend them, is there a point to taking them? I'm sure they must give me some kind of boost.

3. Which ones should I take?

If the colleges you're applying to don't even recommend them, there is no point. Also, the Subject tests are pretty much like the AP tests -- so if you haven't taken the AP class for those subjects, or taken a really good Honors class for them, it'd be hard to do well.

If, for whatever reason you do end up taking Subject tests, I'd suggest taking the ones which emphasize your strengths. So if you're very good at English, take the English Lit test. If you're very good at Biology, take the Biology test.
