if i found a box buried in my backyard, with 2 million dollars in it....can i keep it?

    If its on your property then yes. But I really do doubt you found 2 million dollars in your backyard. Seems someone just wants attention to me.

    I would say yes because it's on your property which you own.

    However, if there is any identifying information from a previous owner, as tempted as I would be to keep it, I would try to return it to its proper owner.

    Yes I think you can keep it as it is from your backyard, the land which you have brought so, in effect, it belongs to you.

    no. You have to report it. If it goes unclaimed for a certain period of time (varies by state) then it legally becomes yours.
