Drowsiness right before a soccer game?

So I play club soccer, and right before a game, usually in the car and when we get there warming up, and sometimes the start of the game, I get extremely drowsy. Even if I've had plenty of sleep, felt fine before, ate alot, etc. I always feel extremely drowsy, and sometimes even fall asleep in the grass warming up.

What could cause this?

It might be because you are nervous. Even if you don't feel nervous, you're body knows something is coming up that it will need to use a lot of energy for, and it makes you feel a bit drained. Make sure you have a snack before your games--not too much though! Also, make sure you are not dehydrated, because playing a sport can make that worse when you are sweating out all of that liquid!

Hope I helped you a little! Good luck with your soccer!! :)
