Check this site and follow the prompts:
https://edit.yahoo.com/config/delete_user
Note: a mail account can't get deleted separately. If you want to keep all other Yahoo services linked to that account best let your mail account go dormant, because after 4 months of inactivity Yahoo deletes free mail accounts automatically.
