What is a polite question to ask a Muslim, to ID whether he is on the fundamentalist end of the spectrum?
Looking to crack the code, to evade possible deception as to whether one is enamored of political Islam. Would be nice to ID a similar question to ask about a reformist attitude, if indeed any Muslims will admit to that.

I don't know. What is a polite way to ask a white person if he is a member of a racist organization? What is a polite way to ask anyone if he or she is a criminal?

Buy a bag or fried pork rinds, politely offer him one. If he politely declines he is moderate or perhaps not a muslim at all and simply a person of good taste. If he recoils in horror, you have your answer ( although I suppose he could still just be a person of good taste. Never mind).
