Green Card: Was the original Theatrical Ending different to DVD releases?

After Gerard was taken away and driven off for deportation... The car stops under a bridge and the Immigration guy says, "Get out." That is, Gerard is 'let go' to go back to Andie?

Does anyone remember this as the original ending to Green Card, and now, the DVD releases have changed due to 'diplomatic/political/legal' reasons?

    The ending you described here is different from the ending that I have seen several times. At the end of the movie Andie kissed George ( I don't think its Gerard) goodbye and he goes back to his country. You're ending does sound A LOT better though. :)
