what does it mean when you see floating white stars going up and down in front of your eyes?

this happened to me today....just out of the blue...and i wasnt doing anything too strenuous at the time..

    'Floaters' in your vision can be a sign of high blood pressure. Please see a doctor.

    These floating white stars are just dust and other particles sitting on your eye ball surface and reflecting light.

    Usually means your eyes are tired, or you have focused on something too bright and it has "imprinted" your eye temporarily...

    It will go away it happens to anyone,,, good question though... :o)
