Is doomsday coming on 13th April 2012, 2029 or 2036 ?

I stand outside at night and yell at the asteroids:

"Come on! If you think you're HARD enough!"

So far, we haven't been hit, so asteroids are chicken.

You mention that Apophis is about 200m wide... and yet are still afraid we'd be destroyed? I don't get it. The asteroid that caused the dinosaurs extinction event was MILES wide. Miles > meters.

i'm surprised - a YouTube video this is inaccurate in its information - think of that! unique observations of Apophis' trajectory has given stronger documents on its action and has eradicated the potential of an result on earth or the Moon in 2029. there replaced right into a gamble that in the time of its 2029 close come upon with Earth, Apophis could pass by a gravitational keyhole - an exceptionally small area in area that would set up a destiny result with Earth in 2036. further observations revealed that it may in all possibility miss the keyhole. So precise now, the possibilities of an bring about 2036 is a million in 40 5,000.

The doomsday predictions about 2012 are hoaxes.

The asteroid Apophis is no threat to us - it has an extremely small (pretty much non-existent) chance of hitting the Earth in 2036. 2029 is just a fly-by.

And some small American fundamentalist Christian sect is proclaiming that doomsday comes in May 2011. I wouldn't hold my breath for that either.

    None of the above.

Apophis has been eliminated as a threat for the first two dates, and it has a probability of 1:250,000 of colliding with the Earth on the third date specified. As we find out more details about this object's orbital parameters, the probability of impact becomes less and less likely. Just one year ago, the most detailed information we had was 1 in 40,000.

Seeing how Apophis has a near transfer orbit between the orbits of Earth and Venus, I wouldn't be surprised if it has established a long term resonance with both worlds, as it has maintained the same orbit for possibly billions of years, if it was a threat, it would have already impacted us.

Still, minor gravitational perturbances compounded over long periods of time (1000s of years) could mean this NEO will be a legitimate threat at some time in the distant future, while humans still inhabit the Earth.

Umm. No, the Russians don't... not their scientists at least. Their media has just been behaving badly with the idea for the sake of sensationalism. The actual impact risk in 2029 for 99942 Apophis is... zero. In 2036, it rises to a whopping 1 in 233,000.

And no, it's not massive enough to be an extinction event asteroid even if it did hit. 510 MT =/= end of mankind.

None of the above...Judgment Day is May 21st, 2011...it has been revealed from the Bible, in these last times, that Judgment Day is May 21st, 2011. On that day there will be a rapture of true believers and a massive worldwide earthquake that will open all graves and expose their contents to shame the unsaved. It will end with world annihilation (God destroying it with fire) on October 21st, 2011. In between those dates it will be utter horror and no salvation for the unsaved left behind.

Pray now for mercy and salvation while there is still time.

Read. read, read the Bible...it is the infallible Word of God (Romans 10:17 So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the Word of God
