Is NYU within reach? NYUAD?

Yo. NYU is kind of my dream. You know, double major in Journalism and Japanese.

So I'm a sophomore. My average for freshmen year was a 98.57, so I believe that is a 4.0 GPA. No weights or anything, I have no idea what those are.

This year I'm doing just as good as last year.

I'm in the Model United Nations Club and Japanese Club. I'm on the school newspaper, as an assistant Managing Editor, doing the layout (I actually worked on it today, 3 hours after school wassup we ordered Chinese food) and Multimedia Editor.

I'll have around 120 hours of community service by the time I am a senior, and at least 120 hours of an internship before I graduate. I'm going to ask my local newspaper if I can be an intern over the summer.

I took the PSAT last year and this year and got a 180 and 185.

Yep.

So. How does NYU sound right now? NYU Abu Dhabi is my distant dream, as I've read it is so selective it makes babies cry, but on the plus side, NYUAD looks for students that want an international perspective on their education. I go to a high school where the theme is International Studies. In April I'm going on the school trip to Japan. Yea boy.

Advice? What should I do?

Update:

Oh yea.

I took College Now Economics 101 last semester, and this semester I will be taking Political Science. I can't take any AP's yet because my school doesn't have many and they only offer to Juniors.

Update 2:

Yep, I plan on taking the Japanese SAT II and Literature. Maybe others. Yep.

Your GPA means nothing to people answering the question because we have no idea how good your high school is. Everything else looks pretty good though. Your PSAT's are nice, and they will improve overtime anyway. I would definitely suggest taking AP's when you can and TAKE SAT II's. SAT II's are so important for college. Seriously. Take them in subjects that you did especially well in and that you want to continue with in college. Other than that, you should be fine if you stay on track.
