    1. Assuming you take the meds, you may or may not have to be on them forever. Some people do eventually get off of them or at the very least get a dosage adjustment. 2. Don't assume that if you change your diet and exercise that you will definitely won't have to be on medications. Some people make liefestyle changes and STILL need medications. Just be aware that lifestyle changes are fabulous but it may not be the only way to help you. 3. Whether you need meds now will be determined later on. The 2 weeks you have will give your doctor a better indication of whether you need it or not. I would suggest keeping a journal or notepad - mark the times that you took your BP and what they were and anything you ate. If you exercise, mark down what you did and for how long. Bring it with you to your next appointment so your doctor can better assess your treatment. 4. Is it too late? I'd like to say no. For some young people (such as yourself), it's not too late. For some, lifestyle changes aren't enough and medications do have to be taken as well.

3 years ago, I was diagnosed - hypertension with a reading of 160/100. I used to feel dizzy a lot, my legs had awful cramps, and levels were very low in my potassium, causing my fingers and toes to always cramp together. One day I started to feel really faint while I was driving with my daughter in the back seat and I passed out, hitting 3 cars and ending up in a ditch. That moment,I knew I had to do something because my meds weren't working. I heard about this diet from a friend and thought I'd give it a shot. The results have been remarkable. In just 21 days, I honestly can't remember feeling this good, my blood pressure went from 175/110 to 125/70.
