Optus prepaid Nokia mobile...........?

I own the phone, is there anyway you can remove Optus as the carrier of the phone..I want to put my SIM Card into it and it wont except it (oh yeah Im with Telstra)

    If you got it on a plan & it was a free phone,I don't think you could as you would have signed a contract at the time.I have a pre-paid Nokia but I don't have a plan so I think I would be able to,not that I wan't to leave Telstra.
