How do you find family accommodation in Las Vegas?

I am bringing my family to Las Vegas next year, but I'm finding it rather difficult to identify a hotel that can accommodate five in one room. Most seem to have a maximum of four, even though they say they're family friendly.

The bigger complication is that a room that has two queen size beds would be fine for us, but most of these hotels have issues with the number of occupants; do you think we'd be alright just booking a quad room and turning up with five?

Any suggestions would be welcome, especially from families who've been there!

I always check hotel deals on http://lasvegasforcheap.com/ as they have a wide variety of hotel deals for Las Vegas. So if you would like to get a hotel for a good rate check there.

5 in room shouldn't be a problem. The best way to get around that is to book a room and say you have 2 people. It will be cheaper than saying 3, 4, or 5. Hotels charge more when they know more than 2 people are staying in a room. If you say you have 2 it will be cheaper and the room won't be any different.

Seeing how you said 2 queen beds will be good enough, this strategy is best.

Most direct hotel websites ask you how many adults and how many children, and then calculate the room options for you. A mini suite, a 2 queen with a cot, adjoining rooms, etc all work for little kids. If the hotel is teens and up, you'd be best to get one with a sleep sofa or the cot.

If you find a relatively reasonably priced room, I'd suggest you call that hotel directly. They may be able to provide a discount for two rooms, or accommodate the extra person. The cap is usually put on a room to limit the risk of in-room parties.

Why not just book a timeshare. They rent them here like hotel rooms. There you can get a two bedroom or even a single bedroom that has a pullout sofa bed. You don't have to go through their sales talk, just rent the apartment. You will also have a kitchen so you can save some money by buying groceries for smaller meals like breakfast. There are several right on the strip. You can find them in most search engines for hotel rooms on the strip. You will find it cheaper that way than paying for the extra three in the room or booking two rooms together. When I travel with my family that is how I do it. We normally have six of us so we find it very convenient.

Many hotels actually can bring in a little cot for you. But to be honest, 5 is pretty cramped in a room. I would request 2 adjoining rooms, that why you have plenty of space. With the economy the way it is, the price for these rooms will basically be the same price as one room with 5 people as they charge more for having additional people.

Check out some hotel rates at http://www.mycheapvegas.com./

    Cheers!

If you are traveling with small children who can all share a bed, you could just tell the hotel you have four people. However, if you find that unethical or it otherwise makes you nervous, I found that the Marriott chain (including Fairfield Inn & Suites, SpringHill Suites, Courtyard, and Residence Inn) can accommodate you with two beds and a sofa bed. This will allow up to six people in the room.

You can get a suite and ask for a rollaway bed OR there are places called Grand View that have large rooms, three bedrooms, just off Strip by the Hard Rock
