cancelled psychologist appt on a day I really needed it?

I am super stresed out right now. I was meant to have an appointment with my psychologist about now but it was cancelled (for a good reason & I know she had no choice - she is the duty worker today & has to deal with a crisis case that will leave her tied up most of the day). The thing is though I have had a night with some major self harm & suicidal thoughts to the point of refining my plan & now I just want to hurt myself again & don't care how much. Some of the cuts I did last night really should have been medically treated but I didn't bother.

I am in a really bad place right now & had so much I needed to work through before the weekend & now that isn't going to happen. So instead of finding a way to cope with it, I just don't want to be alive still when the weekend comes. I know that she would have been able to help put some plans in place to deal with it at our appt but now that isn't going to happen & I know that I'm gong to struggle to get through to her on the phone.

Update:

my psychologist is through the public system crisis & acute care facility (that is also run through the hospital) & she knows how strung out I am - she is trying to get someone who knows me & what is going on to contact me but at this stage everyone is unavailable still because of the crisis they are dealing with (staff shortage & small mental health unit) & would be no different if I went to ER (would be waiting for the same people to be available).

Update 2:

the ER drs would do nothing but order a psych consult where I would be waiting for most likely my own psychiatrist who I know is already tied up too

Not a good place to be in, but fortunately there are some options.

    1) Crisis hot line on the phone for free counseling.

    2) ER at a hospital - most doctors will prescribe medication for psychiatric emergencies as they have all had psychiatric experience (internships) while in training.

    3) County hospitals usually have doctors, psychiatrists, psychologist on duty or on-call 24/7.

I hope you are able to connect with some services immediately. Please don't procrastinate because your symptoms can be treated immediately and effectively. Good luck.

The psychologist will likely be part of an organization or your current health care so if you phone up the place and explain that you are currently on her books but you cannot see her because of her committments but you feel you need to talk to someone. You'll likely be able to talk to someone.

Though there not the same they are proffessionals and before hand they will look at notes on prior sessions so they have a general picture of your past experiences and current situation.
