Actually there is some truth to this, I think. If you are a woman, a few women have a sexual response as part of their orgasm reflex that makes it genuinely feel like the ground is shaking. However the effect is in the woman's perception, the man doesn't feel it at all. I really doubt if there is a correlation, unless someone can prove statistically that Californians do have more sex than the rest of America.
