    Our REAL HOPE

    John 16:33

"I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world."

That is the point of life. To have a freely abundant life of loving and being loved by God!

(abundance -I am not talking about money here- that is slot machine Christianity). To get as close to what we had in the garden (probably shouldn't run around naked in public though- may get arrested) as is possible in a broken world while waiting for the next. Here we have the opportunity to be so well loved and- we get to share that love with others. This kind of living makes God famous in all the world (it glorifies Him).

"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full".

So having that "fullness" is the point. Living life, loving God, loving each other. If you want it, its there. And then you will understand this great spiritual mystery. Can I explain it? Not very well. Can I prove it? Only by my own life. I can't prove hope or faith, yet most people will believe in these things without proofs ironically.

I love life and my life has been filled with hardships and tragedy. I wouldn't have missed it for anything! Heaven will wait, i have things to do still.

That is the meaning of the Christian Life- that is what makes life meaningful!

The point is to live happily with out any kind of addictions that a lot of the people live with today and have been struggling with forever. Like what people think is living the good life is actually hurting their body, mind and soul. Why? Because no matter what, people are never satisfied with what they have. They say they are satisfied but they don't know what they are saying because from one thought to the next they begin to desire something else. No one is ever really satisfied with their life unless they have God(the Father), Jesus (the Son), and the Holy spirit in their lives. Then you are 100% content with life because you know you have everything you want and you will never desire anything else. You who reads this now does not understand it because you do not have the Holy Spirit in you, but you don't really seek it anyway. So when you seek it, you will find it! You will know how much Jesus loves you because you will love him too! God bless! :))

    Prove?

Hmm, well I don't know if anyone is ever truly good enough, fortunately God is kind towards his friends. For the most part I think all people are similar, just trying to survive, enjoy life, be well, successful, and provide for their children.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Within science for each theory and experiment there must be established a 'norm'. Normal in therefore forever variable.

At the present time there may be no way of proving God's existence, though I might remind you there was a time we could not see some planets and stars, and that did not mean they were not there, it is still believed there are many more that we are not able to visualize.

There was a time when tiny organisms could not be seen. With the aid of high-powered telescopes and microscopes we see things that at one time were only theory. The existence of something does not require the visualization of it. God is defined as invisible and many things remain invisible to us yet still exist. It may very well be that humans simply don't have the knowledge or means to prove God yet.

Until then I have made a choice to believe.

If given one choice out of two gambles, I would choose to gamble on something that costs me nothing over something that could cost me everything.

It costs a believer in God nothing. I don't loose anything. I still enjoy life, I may become as educated in science, arts, etc, as any human being, I can be as financially successful, I loose nothing. In fact because I have something to hope in I probably feel more secure and enjoy life more.

On the other hand a person who does not believe in God and is faced with the possible consequences of not believing is actually making a foolish gamble. They have nothing to gain and everything to loose, there are no perks in choosing to not believe, and there are no compensations at all.

Who then is the wiser the one with nothing to loose and the chance of reward or the one willing to loose everything and gain nothing in return? If the believer dies and there is no God then nothing is lost. If the non-believer dies and there is a God, YIKES!

A wise man hedges his bets.

There seems to be an unfounded belief that intelligent people and scientists do not believe in God.

No, because no one is good enough for heaven. Instead, heaven is for the repentant, for those who want to be cleansed of their sins.

The point of life for Christians is to love God with all of our hearts, minds, and souls and to love our neighbor as ourselves.

@iampretty: Why are worshiping God and living life to its fullest necessarily contradictory?

No for we are saved by grace as it is written "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith - and this not from yourselves, it is a gift of God - not by works, so that no one can boast." Ephesians 2:8-9

We are here as a test to see if we would stand through the trials of our faith and to be light and salt that perserves good things to the people of the world proclaiming by the power of God's Spirit the truth so that all may be saved.

God made this world for us to enjoy. He created nature, people, etc...so we can have fun hiking, etc and being with friends. God also hopes that we have a personal relationship with him, where we talk to him and worship him until we get to Heaven where everything will be perfect.

If its just a stopping point to just prove yourself worthy of heaven, than I don't think this life would be at all meaningful.

The point of life is you. Christian, Atheist, Buddhist, makes no difference. Only the you. Without that important mineral there is nothing. No Thing. Parents, sisters, brothers, family, shops, cars, tables, chairs, trees, water....... absolutely devoid of anything, even the planet.

    Peace.

Therefore they say: "Be the best you, you can be"

For me, its to enjoy life to its fullest. Live, learn and love. Most Christians aren't sitting around waiting to die.

To do the work of my Father here in life and to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ. To grow in my relationship with the Lord and to bring others to Him.
