very detailed dream-any ideas as to meaning?

My dad died on the 15th and I dreamt this on the 19th. It is long and detailed, but I would like to get your opinions as to possible interpretation if you please. Here you go.

I was up in Oregon with my sister. My sister and I were in a building that was open on one side, like a shipping dock. We were just hanging around, waiting for someone to come pick up Dad for cremation. A white stakebed truck filled with dark rich soil backed into a loading bay. That was what they carried the bodies away in. We were worried that we wouldn’t be there to see them take Dad away, but the driver said he would let us know when he was leaving.

The scene changed. We were still at the dock, but looking towards the building. It was a wall of stainless steel filled with drawers-to hold bodies. I got the sense that we were talking and we just happened to glance over. One of the drawers was open, and in it was our Dad. He was shorter and for lack of a better term, autopsied. I could tell that his chest was opened up. My sister said, "I've seen more of my dad than I should". Right after that, in unison, we said “I can see his heart” She then told me that they had tied it up with a slip knot this time.

The scene changed again. Same building, but this time I was a maintenance worker of sorts. Someone handed me a bucket of white paint and a brush and told me to “go paint the trim.” It had to be painted every 3 days for some reason. I walked around the corner and the building transformed into a covered walkway with apartments on the right side and a white rail fence on the left. At the base of the fence was a 12” baseboard that was chipped and peeling. As I bent over to start painting, I heard a voice from one of the apartments say, “Hi! What are you doing over there?” I looked up and there was a very old grey-haired woman peering out of her window at me. I knew she was lonely, so I went over and made some small talk with her, talking about painting and just spending some time with her. Then she said something about memory and how she would lose it if she didn’t follow a diabetic diet. She showed me her plate that had eggs, a slice of bacon, juice and tea.

I woke up then. It wasn’t a bad dream, even with my dad’s body being there. It was as if I was supposed to take care of that elderly woman, to spend time with her, to show her I cared. I woke up with a warm feeling, but I can’t explain it. Not joy per se, but a kind of satisfaction.

What happens at the point of death is a great mystery. I believe your unconscious mind has given you some amazing insights into a wondrous process. I will tell you two experiences I have had that indicates there is far more to this process than meets the conscious eye:

Years ago I was working at my former employer's home when their daughter, Mary passed away. She had Reye's Syndrome and was horribly disfigured and completely helpless, so her passing was a relief. At instant of her death (which I was able to later verify) the sky darkened, and all the neighborhood dogs released a mournful howl. That was my first experience with the Death Angel, which is often the subject of books and movies, but seldom enters into our conscious world.

I have a close friend whose wife runs a Hospice center, and I had the opportunity to talk to her about this matter. The overwhelming stories of spiritual activity as her clients made the transition from this life to the next were amazing. For her, is it a daily occurance, and she walks with an uncanny understanding of the actual nature of our existence here.

Your unconscious mind has created a facsimile of this transitional process using props that have special meaning to you. I'll address some of the symbolism to see if we can shed some light on your dream:

Your dad's body being carted away in good rich soil indicates that new life awaits after his "planting".

The autopsied dad gave you a glimpse of the end process. We are a mess in our earth suits, and God has to perform major surgery often to get us fit for heaven, and it is invariably a heart issue. The slip knot insures that whatever took place will hold, and there will be no going back to the heart condition he has been delivered from. Shorter? Yes. Any encounter with God shrinks us. Remember, there is no getting into heaven unless we have the heart of a child.

The significance of requiring maintenance every three days ties in with the death and ressurection of Jesus, the only recorded template we have for the after-death experience. The old gray-haired lady is you, many years in the future. Now you are waiting for the transition, and your good works have helped create an environment that makes this process a pleasant experience. A diabetic diet is absent of toxic sugars, a metaphore for sin. How apt that your unconscious mind understands the poisonous effect on sugar in the body that destroys neurological function. Selfish deeds and a hard heart are the same to our soul. it eventually will cost us our soul, which is the mind, will and emotions (including our memory)

If I had to summarize your dream, I would simply say that a lifetime of preparing for that departure time is well worth the cost. No autopsies required; instead a time of great peace and joy.

Best wishes to you, and pleasant dreams.

When one of your parent die, you realize that your own death will occur sometime and you suddenly feel very lonely even if you have lots of people around you. All the characters of your dream represents a part of you, so the old lady is just the piece of you that feels lonely because of your dad's death and it means that you'll have to take care of yourself to feel better. The knot in your dad's heart mean that they're things that you hadn't have the chance to tell him, something that's hunting you. The fence you have to repaint means that there was something you didn't do before because you thought your dad would disapprove it and now that you are free to do it, you see that there are more important things to do first. (Just my interpretation for what it's worth )

How approximately the phrases for desire in quite a lot of different languages? Some are fairly lovely: Italian: Speranza French: Esperance Spanish: Esperanza Or how approximately Faith, Cherish, Fortunata, Aspire, Rosie, Reverie, Reve, Promise? Most of those appear to paintings greater for women than boys, however mild alterations within the finishing might mainly lead them to suitable for both gender. Or "attempt" in quite a lot of languages: Italian: Sforzarsi Spanish: Esforzarsi Good success!
