YipYap is absolutely correct. The first thing to check is that the transit bolts have been removed. These are the bolts that protect the machine's suspension system during transportation.

When you have checked that, you must ensure that the machine is completely level and that all four feet are in contact with the floor. At least two of the feet will be adjustable, probably all four. Adjust the feet so that the machine will not rock if you push it.

Finally, do not overload the machine. There should be enough room in the drum for the clothes to move around freely during the washing cycle. This is especially important if you have some large heavy items, like large towels, jeans or thick "hooded" tops in the wash. The drum should never be filled to the top with dry washing, about one third of the drum should be left empty to allow room for tumbling and for the clothes to distribute themselves around the drum during the spin cycle. Incidentally, the clothes will not be properly washed if the drum is too full.

When you bought the machine did you install it yourself? You need to read the installation instructions carefully because washing machines have certain transit packaging securties.

A typical install requires you to remove transit screws, inner packaging etc. Each machine is different, but if you just plumbed in and plugged in you've done it wrong.

    Check your install instructions.
