Name of an animated dog, possibly from a Disney movie?

Hello all,

I'm trying to remember the name of an animated dog, a character from a tv show or movie that was around in the 90's. I'm pretty sure he was brown in colour, had long floppy ears, and when he spoke he sounded as though he had a heavy cold. I think he was quite downtrodden in character, a little like a dog-version of Eeyore.

This came up in a discussion with some friends, and while we all vaguely remember him, we can't think of the name, or where he was from. It's going to drive me mad now, until I find out.

Are you thinking of Trusty from lady and the Tramp? He was a large brown hound dog who talked very slowly.
