Will Tattoo Ink get bad in time like milk,or better like alcohol?

I was told by a Tattoo shop owner, that Tattoo ink gets better with age the older the better.the older it gets the more brilliant the color.I have some that is 15 years old. I was thinking if so, I should be able to boil it and use it. I was not going to use it until I get the facts......?

Neither. It doesn't go sour like milk, but it's not exactly a fine wine either. LOTIONS have an expiration date for crying out loud. Not because they spoil, exactly, but because stuff can grow in the container and it's not generally a good idea to put them in or on your skin.

Sure, ink that's been stored for extended periods may be more concentrated pigment, but that's something you can look for in fresh ink as well.

Throw it out, or use it as practice paint.

Not true at all. Are you a licensed tattoo artist? If so, you would know the shelf life of tattoo ink. If not, you should throw it and your machines away and forget about scratching.

He was jerking your chain. If you see him again, ask him why they have expiration dates on the good inks.
