It really depends on what type of work you are looking for. I came here more than 7 years ago and had a number of jobs in the early days (I now work as a freelance writer). Some things you can look into:

    - Teaching English. Just put up an ad on noticeboards around the area you'll be staying at. I think current prices are around 30Q an hour. I did this for many years, it's very easy. If you prefer, there are many English schools that hire on a regular basis, though I don't think any have websites.

-Bartending. There are sooooo many bars in Antigua that hire foreigners and since you speak both languages, you have a great advantage. It doesn't pay well per hour, but there are tips and free booze! :) I'd suggest checking Reilly's Tavern, Mono Loco, Sky Bar and Riki's. Often I would walk in, ask for a job and they'd tell me to come back that same evening to start work.

    - Teaching. If you come down in October or November, that's when schools are hiring and you can get a job as a teacher, even with no degree. These would be private schools where you can teach English or other subjects.

    - Secretary. Often there are jobs for people who are bilingual and able to communicate with offices in the US or other parts of the world. I would suggest looking the papers for these positions. http://prensalibre.com/ is a good place to start.

    Hope that helps!

I am assuming that you want a job where you will speak english you can find a job at call centers. Google 24/7, Transactel and ACS they are big call centers that work for US companys in Guatemala, they hire all the time.

If not you can go to American schools in Guatemala and apply to be a a english teacher.
