Lavender oil on the skin.?

I seem to remember reading somewhere that you should never apply lavender oil directly onto the skin.

Has anyone heard of this?

Hi, I live in Sequim, WA--considered to be one of the top lavender-producing areas in the world. I believe it depends on the strength of the oil. I have applied it to my face because it is a very good moisturizer. Sometimes I mix it with chamomile oil. Test a spot with a drop and see how it feels.

If you want to, you can add some lavender oil to your body lotion to make it smell better, but don't just put the oil it's self on your skin.
