Nathan Bock being booed?

Who thinks Nathan Bock being booed on last Sunday vs Melbourne and on Saturday vs Pt Adelaide was a bit over the top. I think that this is unfair to him as he will get punished eventually but all he needs is to cop more from feral Port Adelaide fans!!

I didn't hear it when I watched the Melbourne game, but I was at the Showdown on Saturday. A few Crows blokes a couple of rows behind us were mouthing off to the Port supporters saying the only reason they're booing is because he plays for Adelaide, if it was any other player from another team they wouldn't give a stuff, which is probably true. But you would expect Adelaide fans to do the exact thing if a Port player was do something along the same lines.

  • as if people here "Didnt hear the booing against Melbourne". that was the loudest the crowd got, besides when the demons kicked their first goal. i think it's stupid, and very immature. Graham Cornes made a pretty funny comment about the melbourne's reaction, basically saying "what else would you expect from victorians?" lol. but yes, this week the crows are at home against the bulldogs, and after that match, the heat will have settled down, and i think the opposition crowd will stop booing him.

Neil Craig did mention that in his first game back against Geelong, Nathan Bock did not recieve ONE heckle from a cats player. that's the way it should be with the crowd too

I have to say that although I do not agree with all the Fans booing him, I feel that he should not even be playing in the AFL at the moment, he should have been suspended by the AFL instead of the Crows giving him one game off, a slap on the wrist and then they think that its fine and everyone should just forget about it.

The Fact is that he stuffed up he PHYSICALLY HIT his girlfriend when he was DRUNK!!! I mean WTF, the Crows havent even made him go to any Anger Management course or if he has an alchohol prob send him somewhere.

In every other code of sport the athletes are Suspended, just a few instances in a few areas,

Greg Bird NRL did the exact thing and was suspended by the NRL.

Rugby Union player Matt Henjak hit a team mate Haig Sare and was dropped from the Western Force and was Suspended by the ARU.

Nick Darcy got done for hitting Simon Cowley when he was Drunk he was dropped from Olympics and its still going on over 6 months later.

Wayne Carey hit his girlfriend whilst drunk and lost many Commentator/reporting Jobs due to it.

As much as I hate to say it if this was a Bigger name player or a Collingwood or Big Club then the media would have been all over it and out for his head and the AFL would have taken action however because it isnt they havent which is a disgrace.

The AFL are weak this is just another instance of inconsistency just like last weekend threatening the Kangaroos with a fine if they wear their home Jumper to a Home Game because they know that the Kangaroos cant afford to pay the fine and they dont want to go up against Collingwood.

    Another Joke!!

no i don't think this is too soon. the guy was fined 5,000 dollars, and has to do 50 hours community service aswell. so i think he should be allowed to play. with the Graham Johncock incident ur talking about, the Crows Leadership Group had a meeting, and decided that he wasn't ready to come back into the side. and they did the same thing this week, except strongly recomended that he be brought back in

    It was to be expected.

Port Adelaide fans were quick to forget Shaun Burgoyne's alleged involvement in a rape case on West Terrace near the Heaven night club in Adelaide . He and 2 other AFL players allegedly raped a young woman some time ago and got away with it through their clubs allegedly paying the woman not to press charges. Those players who were allegedly involved were not treated the same as Nathan Bock by opposition supporters.

I applaude the Power players for not giving him extra attention for what he did. Also well played saurday night you were the better team on the night.

I think Bock should have missed 3 games instead of 1.

Bock being booed by fans is probably down to the p*ss poor attitude of Adelaide when it comes to disciplining its players. After all the tough talk the penalty handed to Bock was all of one week, which I guess is one week more than they gave to Scott Thompson.

Only Carlton has a worse record of disciplining players who cross the line.

Hes coped it from the media, and the fans dont need to add to it. The reason he is out there playing is because he has realised what he did wrong and is out to get back his good name, the booing doesnt help that.

  • Well, maybe he should think of these things before he goes around assaulting people. All players will get booed when they stuff up (except for Fev - he does it so often, people just expect him to stuff up so they ignore his little attention seeking antics.) ben Cousins will get booed. Juddy got a few boos when he played the Eagles first time. Comes with the territory.

    EDIT: Anthony H nice work!!

i thought it was a disgrace. you would expect it in a showdown but i thought it was too much because what he did had nothing too do with football it was with something in his personal life and the demon and port supporters should have shut there mouths.
