My puppy won't stop biting?

About 2 and a half months ago, I adopted a Lab mix puppy from our local humane society, when she was 3 months old. At first she was really shy, and she has come out of her shell. The only problem is is she won't stop biting my little brothers! She is fine with all the other people in the family, but when my brothers come in the room, she completely attacks them. What can I do to get her to stop mauling my brothers?

Also, she has an issue with dumping her water. At first we thought it was the bowl, so we bought a sturdy, ceramic bowl that we thought wouldn't dump, and she's doing it again! How should I get her to stop? Other than that, she's a wonderful dog who rarely barks and is very sweet. Thank you for all your answers!!!

When she runs to your brothers, do they scream or yell or run away. Teach them to just stand still, they should not move and not make a sound. You must have her on lead, but let her go to them. If she wants to jump or bite, pull her away and say "NO" in a loud deep growling voice. If she sniffs, that is fine. Then ask them to start walking (not running). If she wants to go for them, repeat the NO. She might just want to play, or she might want to dominate them. She must learn to respect them, and they must learn to treat her fairly.

When the puppy bites someone make a loud/ high pitched yelp because thats how puppys in a pack let each other know that they are bitting too hard. Also I heard that you can kinda grab their mouth and hold it shut and firmly say "no". It said that older dogs in a pack would bite them on the mouth like that and its kinda the same effect. As for the water thing, my puppy does that too. It might just be a puppy thing.

Probably one of the most common complaints and training requests we trainers hear is about puppy biting.

All puppies mouth and bite. It's how they learn about their world. This is a normal and to be expected part of bringing up a puppy.

Here are links to articles that explain how to TEACH the puppy to manage his mouth, and how to handle his teeth on human skin. This is called teaching a puppy BITE INHIBITION. It is maybe THE most important lesson your puppy can learn in his early life.

when she bites you, make a high-pitched squeal or yelp. When dogs in a pack bite each other, they yelp to get the other to stop. then turn your back and ignore her until she's calmed down. once she stops immediately, reward her. evetually she will learn that her leader does not like to be bitten.

    hope this helps!

When she bites tap her on the nose and tell her NO. As for her water when she knocks it over tell her NO.
