If an Election was held today would the people of Gaza elect Hamas?

1. The Election would have to be UN supervised and fair.

2. Intimidation by candidates would have to be outlawed.

3. Independent candidates would have to allowed.

4. The decision of the people would have to be respected.

No, because if the voters were not itimidated by them then they would through their asses out of their country. They would never elect Hamas. Only if they were intimidated. Hamas is the bully over there and people need to realize that.

The previous election was suprvised by the U.S. and many still admitted amas intimidated them to vote for him. Though I'm sure the U.S. supervision surely helped.

Gaza was always more leaning towards Hamas, so it's hard to say. While many blame Hamas for the recent events, most of the younger generation which suffered from Hamas's extensive brainwashing supports Hamas. I believe the majority would still vote Hamas, without realizing he's the cause for Gaza's problems. The sane people had already left Gaza long ago(Such as the Christians who were prosecuted there moving to the West Bank).

"1. The Election would have to be UN supervised and fair."

    You're assuming a lot here.

Who knows I hope not. Hamas doesn't only hate the Jews but also treats the palestinians bad.

probably not, but hamas isn't going to let the un monitor it. they would claim victory regardless of the outcome.

dont think so i think that they would elect someone to lead them to peace after such a long time of war and death

Not if they wanted to live in peace...I don't think they would under the conditions you've listed.

Source(s): common sense....but what does common sense have to do with anything that goes on over there?
