Starting times for schools in USA?
I've just been reading the answers to another asker about school starting times in USA. I'm shocked at the early starting times. Starting school at 7 or 7.30am in the winter must be very hard. You'd have to get up at dawn and it would still be dark outside during morning lessons. Must be torture for some children. It would seem like the middle of the night, surely.
In Australia the starting time is closer to 9am - but some high school start about 8.30.
What is the situation in other countries? I'm curious.

my school in idaho started at 6:50 and went till 2:53, it was torture specially with football basketball and track after

Every school I've been to in the US has started at 7:20-7:30. In German schools start around 8:00 to 8:30.

well where i live in the north east of england i start school at 8:50 and fish at 3:10 but normally it is around nine o'clock to some thing past three.We only say max 6 hours at school.
