Do Faeces still smell in water?

When you go to the toilet to defaecate (do a number 2)... once the faeces enters the water in your toilet (assuming it doesn't float), does it still release an odour that we can smell?

Update:

[sometime...]...

OK, if it's Methane Gas... and the poo is in water.. the gas would have to rise through the water... wouldn't this be seen as Bubbles in your toilet?

ROFL nice question. I say they do..this is just random crap cause i have done no research but I've been to a sewage plant where they store it in water and there's an agent in the water so it doesn't float and it still smells...Maybe it's just because of the huge quantities of waste but I'm not sure =P

Feaces do not gives smell when dissolved in water, usually feaces gives smell when allowed in open environment due to the action of bacterias and many other microorganisms. Feaces do not contain methane gas or any other gas usually all the nitrogenous wastes fom the body are removed by urine. The smell of feaces also depends on the type of food u take and the conition of ur gasto track
