When making pumpkin bread (quickbread) with whole wheat flour, do I substitute 1:1 for white flour?

Just wondering if I change the volume of flour for the recipe if I'm using whole wheat flour or it it's 1:1. Thanks!!

Update:

I've made a whole wheat banana bread that I found on allrecipes and it didn't seem dense at all (quite yummy) :). Unfortunately, I can't find a WW pumpkin bread, so I'm just hoping to use a regular one. Hopefully it won't be too bad!!

    The amounts used are interchangeable...however just note that when you use w/w flour you will have a DENSE bread. When you use white it will be lighter.

    total wheat flour is denser then white and could make a heavier pumpkin bread even nevertheless this is substituted. in case you will substitute each and all of the flour then use 7/8 cup total wheat for a million cup of white, if going a million/2 and a million/2 then do a a million for a million substitution.

    Hi there, unless for health reasons you can not do it - I would not change it to 100% whole wheat - but rather do half whole wheat and half white flour or your loaf is going to be very heavy.. Also I generally make sure the edges of the loaf are pulling away from the sides of the pan to make sure it is done. Seems to take a bit longer to get all the way to the middle.

    Otherwise you can use 100 percent w/w but it will be much heavier and chewier bread. Good luck!

    Check and see if you can find a flour called "white whole wheat". This is a whole grain flour with a sweeter taste and similar density as a bread type flour.
