Denver public schools charge money?

Have a sister-in-law who claims her daughter goes to a Denver public school (elementary), yet she has to pay $500/month to do so. Is this nonsense, or in some way does public school really charge like that?

Hmmm. well I live in Denver and I've never heard of that. My son graduated 2 years ago and went to public school the entire time and I never had to pay for public school.

I do not live in Denver or Colorado, but I have never heard of a public school charging. However, I have heard that people pay money to let their kids stay after school hours. My friend has two kids in Oklahoma and she pays $ 500 a month to let them stay until 5pm until she gets off work.
