My employer is changing my working hours. As yet they cannot inform me as to the new hours/shift patterns. ?

The company plans to change my hours on 1st Oct 08.

In a nutshell I need to know how much notice they must give me.

The information I have got so far is that its either 30 days or 90.

Is the notice required in writing ?

    What state?

In a right to work state, I am pretty sure they wouldn't HAVE to give you any notice at all because they could just say could just say, work these hours next week or your fired.

They must give you a minimum notice of 28 days, plus 1 week for every year you have been with the company.

Eg. If you have been with the company 5 years, they must give you 28days + (5x7) = 63 days notice.

However, after this notice period, you have 2 choices. Accept the hours or they can terminate your contract.

What does it say in your contract?

A lot of contracts say something along the lines of ' an employees working hours/ duties ... etc... may change at the discretion of mgmt, as the need arises.

has this happened to anyone else in your company, that you could ask
